01 — The essential fat

What is omega-3?

Omega-3s are essential polyunsaturated fats. "Essential" means your body cannot make them on its own — they have to come from food or supplements.

They are part of the membrane of every cell in the body and play a general role in heart, brain, eye, and joint health, as well as in supporting a healthy inflammatory response. There are three main types.

ALA

Alpha-linolenic acid

The plant form, found in flaxseed, chia, hemp, and walnuts. The body converts only a small portion of ALA into EPA and DHA.

EPA

Eicosapentaenoic acid

A long-chain omega-3 found mainly in fatty fish and algae, commonly associated with heart health and a healthy inflammatory response.

DHA

Docosahexaenoic acid

A long-chain omega-3 and a major structural fat in the brain and the retina of the eye, supporting normal brain and eye function.

02 — Molecular heritage

A discovery written in ice.

The story of omega-3 begins not in a lab, but at the edge of the Arctic — with a question about why a people eating so much fat had such healthy hearts.

Icebergs floating in still dark water along an Arctic Greenland coastline under a low golden sun.

20th century

A curious diet

Researchers studying Arctic populations such as the Greenland Inuit noticed a diet built on fish, seal, and whale — remarkably high in fat.

1970s

Dyerberg & Bang

Danish researchers Jørn Dyerberg and Hans Olaf Bang observed notably low rates of heart disease among the Inuit, despite that high-fat diet.

Since

A field is born

Their observation pointed to the long-chain omega-3s in marine fats, and helped launch decades of fish-oil research that continues today.

03 — Where it's found

From the sea, and the soil.

EPA · DHA

Salmon

A classic fatty fish and a direct source of the long-chain forms.

EPA · DHA

Mackerel

Small, oily and rich — one of the densest marine sources.

EPA · DHA

Sardines

Low on the food chain, naturally rich in marine omega-3s.

EPA · DHA

Anchovies

A traditional raw material for high-quality fish oil.

EPA · DHA

Fish oil

Concentrated EPA and DHA from fatty fish, in softgel or liquid.

EPA · DHA

Algae oil

Where fish get their omega-3s. The main direct EPA/DHA option for vegans and vegetarians.

ALA

Walnuts

The only tree nut with a meaningful amount of plant omega-3.

ALA

Flaxseed & oil

Among the richest plant sources of ALA, best eaten ground.

ALA

Chia seeds

Tiny seeds with generous ALA and fiber.

ALA

Hemp seeds

A nutty plant source of ALA alongside other fatty acids.

Varies

Fortified foods

Some eggs, milks, yogurts and juices have added omega-3.

A note for plant-based diets: walnuts, flax, chia, and hemp provide ALA, which the body converts to EPA and DHA only in small amounts. Algae oil is the main option for vegans and vegetarians because it supplies EPA and DHA directly.

Why ours is different

I

Our own laboratory

Most brands send samples out and wait. US Longevity Laboratories operates its own testing facility, so purity checks are part of how we make the product — not an afterthought.

II

Heavy-metal screening

Every batch is molecularly distilled and then screened for heavy metals and environmental contaminants before it is released.

III

Traceable, wild sourcing

We work with wild, sustainably caught fish so you know where your oil begins.

IV

Two ways to take it

Softgels for simplicity, liquid for those who prefer a spoon. Same oil, same standard.

05 — White label

Bring your brand to market with our omega-3.

Every brand needs an omega-3 in its lineup, but almost nobody wants to build the supply chain, sourcing, and testing themselves. US Longevity Laboratories handles all of it — sourcing, formulation, third-party purity testing, and packaging — so you can launch your own branded omega-3 product without building a lab.
